OEUK’s Business Outlook Report 2026 showed that, despite the UK’s decarbonization efforts and net zero ambitions, the reality is that oil and gas still made up approximately 75% of the domestic energy mix as of 2025. Yet recent government policies have not supported oil and gas investments, leaving the country open to increased reliance on imports in the coming years.
