GustoMSC<\/strong> has delivered Chela, a multifunctional arm, to Maersk Drilling. The technology can lift 22 tonnes at 21-m radius underneath the cantilever at any position. It also does not obstruct any wellhead deck space. Both are value drivers for Maersk Drilling and its customer, AkerBP.<\/p>\n

Offering efficiency benefits and improvements in terms of safety, Chela is capable of lifting 22 tonnes at 21 m radius underneath the cantilever at any position.<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The technology was introduced in 2016. In presence and with input from Maersk<\/strong>, AkerBP<\/strong>, JB Systems<\/strong> and Breman Factory<\/strong>, the FAT test was successfully performed showing the tool’s capabilities and facilitating a fast-track start-up for Maersk.<\/p>\n

During the test, highly positive feedback was received. “The people who are going to work with the crane are all impressed,” Olav Dahle<\/strong>, AkerBP, said.<\/p>\n
